Hazelnut Cookies Recipe
- 3 c. flour
- 1 teaspoon baking pwdr
- 1/2 pound sweet butter (unsalted)
- 2 c. hazelnuts (unsalted)
- 1 c. powdered sugar
- 1 capful of vanilla
- 1 capful of rum (light color)
- Few drops of fresh lemon juice
- 1/4 c. of half and half
- Sift flour with baking pwdr.
- Mix the flour with the butter, as for pie crust.
- Place the cleaned nuts onto a cookie sheet in a preheated 250 degree oven for about 10 min.
- Pour onto a cloth and roll till the peals come off.
- Mix the nuts with the flour and butter mix.
- Add in the half and half as much as necessary to make the dough stick together.
- Make one big ball.
- Roll out onto a floured board 1/4 inch thickness.
- Cut out with cookie cutter (any design you may wish).
- Place on ungreased cookie sheet.
- Bake at 375 degrees for about 15 to 20 min or possibly till light brown.
- They burn fast, so be careful.
- While still warm, roll in powdered sugar.
- Makes about 55 to 60 cookies.
