Prickly Pear Margarita

  1. Combine the tequila, Cointreau, lime juice and pear syrup in a cocktail shaker.
  2. Shake vigorously to incorporate.
  3. Wet the rim of a margarita glass and dip into salt and sugar mixture.
  4. Pour margarita into glass over ice.
  5. Garnish with a kumquat and a curled piece of lime peel.
