Stove Top Baked Beans
- 2 cans beans with pork, canned tall cans
- 2 cans beans with pork, canned small cans
- 1 pound bacon
- 1 each sweet red bell peppers diced
- 1 each onions diced
- 1/2 pound brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons prepared mustard
- 5 shakes worcestershire sauce
- 5 shakes liquid smoke
- 3 shakes garlic dry, minced
- Fry bacon until crisp.
- Remove and save bacon.
- Brown onion and bell pepper in bacon grease.
- Pour in beans, brown sugar, mustard, garlic.
- Mix well.
- Add worcestershire and liquid smoke until color darkens.
- Crumble bacon and mix.
- Taste.
- Beans should be very sweet.
- Adjust brown sugar, worcestershire and liquid smoke to taste.
- Simmer slowly, covered, stirring often for 30 minutes on low heat.
- May be made ahead.
- Beans will thicken and sweeten with age.
- The ingredients are adjustable to your taste.
