Hawaiian Octopus Poke
- 200 grams Boiled octopus
- 1 Avocado
- 1/2 Tomato
- 1/4 Onion
- 1 Green onions
- 1 White sesame seeds
- 1 tbsp Lemon juice
- 1/2 tbsp Fish sauce (or soy sauce)
- 1/2 clove Grated garlic
- 1/2 tbsp Sesame oil
- Pit the avocado, peel and dice.
- Put the diced avocado into a bowl and mix with 1 tablespoon of lemon juice to prevent discoloring.
- Cut the 1/4 onion in half, and slice thinly along the grain.
- If you don't like the harshness, soak the sliced onion in water.
- Cut up the octopus (whatever size you like).
- Put in a bowl and mix with the nam pla and garlic.
- Cut the tomato up roughly, and chop a generous amount of green onions.
- The octopus will have absorbed a lot of flavor by this time.
- Put the avocado, onion, tomato, green onions, sesame oil and white sesame seeds in a bowl and mix.
- Taste, and adjust the seasoning if needed.
- Chill in the refrigerator.
- Once it's plated, you'll feel like you're in Hawaii.
