Au Gratin Burger Casserole

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  2. Brown the ground beef, add the onion.
  3. Cook until beef is well done and.
  4. onions are tender.
  5. Drain fat off and set aside.
  6. In same frying pan, add tomatoes and heat them to boiling, so that some of the liquid boils off.
  7. Spoon meat over top of tomatoes, sprinkle your favorite mixed seasoning over.top.
  8. I used a homemade Black Magic mix, very spicy.
  9. Keep at a medium temp.until most of the liquid is cooked off.
  10. In the meantime, mix up the sauce part of the au gratin potatoes as directed.on the box.
  11. Do not add the potatoes to this.
  12. In a large baking dish, I used a dutch oven, spoon the hamburger mixture into the bottom of the dish.
  13. Layer beans on top of meat, then layer the potatoes on top of the beans.
  14. Now pour the au gratin mixture over everything.
  15. Bake, uncovered, until potatoes are soft and au gratin has thickened with a.
  16. crust on top.
  17. About 50 minutes.
  18. Remove from oven, let stand for 10-15.
  19. minutes to let it cool a bit before spooning onto plates.
  20. Serve with biscuits or cornbread, and favorite side dishes.
