Lasagne(Serve With French Bread)
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 6 oz. lean pork
- 3/4 c. onion, chopped
- 1 clove garlic or minced
- 1 (1 lb.) can tomatoes, stewed
- 1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce
- 2 Tbsp. parsley flakes
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. basil leaves
- 3 c. cottage cheese (two 12 oz. cartons, can use less if desired)
- 1/2 c. Parmesan cheese
- 1 Tbsp. parsley flakes
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. oregano
- 1 (8 oz.) pkg. lasagne noodles
- 3/4 lb. Mozzarella cheese, shredded or sliced
- 1/2 c. Parmesan cheese
- Cook and stir meat, onion and garlic; drain.
- Add tomatoes, sauce, parsley flakes, sugar, salt and basil.
- Heat to boiling; simmer 45 minutes uncovered.
- Save 1/2 the sauce for top.
- Mix cottage cheese with the remaining 1/2.
- Use a 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking dish.
- No grease in dish.
- Alternate noodles, meat sauce, Mozzarella cheese and cottage cheese mix 3 times.
- Top with 1/2 meat sauce and 1/4 Parmesan cheese.
- Let sit 15 minutes before cooking.
