Hamburger & Caramelized Onion Pizza
- 2 tablespoons Land O Lakes Butter
- 1 sweet onion, cut in half, sliced
- 1/2 pound lean ground beef*
- 2 cloves fresh garlic, chopped
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning*
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon pepper
- 1 (10- to 14-ounce) round prepared Italian pizza crust
- 1/2 cup prepared Alfredo pasta sauce
- 1 small (1/2 cup) red bell pepper, coarsely chopped
- 4 ounces (1 cup) shredded mozzarella cheese
- Heat oven to 425F.
- Melt butter in skillet until sizzling; add onion.
- Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, 20-25 minutes or until onion is browned and caramelized.
- Remove onion mixture from skillet; set aside.
- Place ground beef and garlic into same skillet; cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, 5-6 minutes or until browned.
- Drain off fat.
- Stir in onion mixture, Italian seasoning, salt and pepper.
- Spread Alfredo sauce over pizza crust.
- Top with ground beef mixture, bell pepper and mozzarella cheese.
- Bake 10-12 minutes or until cheese is melted.
- *Substitute Italian sausage, eliminating Italian seasoning.
