Double Decadence Bars
- 1 1/2 cups firmly packed brown sugar
- 1 cup Land O Lakes Butter, softened
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 3 Land O Lakes Eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chopped salted peanuts*
- 1 cup toffee bits or milk chocolate toffee bits
- 4 (1-ounce) squares bittersweet baking chocolate, melted
- powdered sugar
- Heat oven to 350F.
- Line 13x9-inch baking pan with aluminum foil, extending foil over edges.
- Butter foil; set aside.
- Combine brown sugar, butter and sugar in bowl; beat at medium speed until creamy.
- Add eggs and vanilla; continue beating until smooth.
- Add flour, baking powder and salt; beat at low speed until well mixed.
- Stir in peanuts and toffee bits.
- Place 2 cups batter into bowl.
- Spread remaining batter into prepared pan.
- Add melted chocolate to reserved batter; mix well.
- Spread chocolate mixture over batter in pan.
- Bake 28-33 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
- Cool completely.
- Sprinkle bars with powdered sugar.
- Lift bars from pan using foil ends.
- Cut into bars.
- *Substitute your favorite nut, such as walnuts, pecans and/or cashews.
