Beef Stew In Beer Recipe
- 50 gm Butter, unsalted
- 2 lb Diced topside of beef
- 1/4 tsp Grnd coriander
- 4 x Shallots, diced
- 2 sprg thyme
- 1 3/4 pt Newcastle brown ale
- 2 Tbsp. Flour
- 2 Tbsp. Dijon mustard
- Fry off the shallots in the butter.
- Add in the beef and brown for 4-5 min.
- Add in the flour and cook.
- Add in the coriander and thyme and mustard.
- Add in the beer and cover the meat.
- Simmer gently for 11/2 hrs approximately.
- Remove the meat and keep hot.
- Strain the sauce and serve.
- Accompany with sweet potato pie.
