Sicilian Ragu

  1. In a large skillet cook ground beef, ground pork, and onion until brown.
  2. In a large saucepan mix together the tomatoes, garlic, carrots, peas, water, bay leaves, olive oil, and salt.
  3. Add meat mixture.
  4. Bring to a boil.
  5. Cover partially, and reduce to a simmer.
  6. Cook for one hour, stirring occasionally.
