Chocolate Rocks

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  2. Position racks in upper and lower thirds of oven.
  3. In a large bowl, combine flour, oats, cinnamon, baking soda, and salt.
  4. Set aside.
  5. In a medium saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.
  6. Remove from heat; stir in brown sugar.
  7. Stir in apple butter, eggs, and vanilla.
  8. Add flour mixture; stir until well combined.
  9. Stir in chocolate chips, walnuts, and raisins.
  10. Return dough to bowl, cover, and refrigerate until firm, 30 minutes to an hour.
  11. Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper.
  12. Drop dough by rounded soup-spoonfuls about 1 inch apart.
  13. Bake 13-15 minutes, rotating pans halfway through cooking, until bottoms of cookies are golden brown.
  14. Immediately transfer cookies to racks to cool.
  15. Store in an airtight container for up to 1 week.
  16. Makes about 3 dozen cookies.
