Smarties Cookie
- 4 ounces butter
- 4 ounces light brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon golden syrup
- 6 ounces self-rising flour
- 3 ounces smarties candies (2 to 3 tubes )
- Preheat oven 180 degrees Celsius, gas 4.
- Beat butter and sugar in a bowl until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the syrup.
- Work in half the flour.
- Stir in the smarties with the remaining flour.
- Work the dough together with your fingers.
- Divide into 14 balls.
- Place them well apart on a baking sheet; do not flatten.
- Bake for 12 minutes until pale golden at the edges only.
- Cool on a wire rack.
- These will keep for 4 days in a container.
