Patty Melt

  1. I grill these over charcoal with hickory chips.
  2. Once grill is hot I put the onion right on the coals.
  3. Don't be afraid of the char...your gonna want that.
  4. While onion cooks.
  5. Patty the meat into 8 ounce portions.
  6. Allow onion about twenty minutes and give it a turn or two.
  7. Now put those patty's on and cook to desired temp.
  8. Add your cheese and toast that bread.
  9. Remove the outer char from onion and get to that soft inner portion.
  10. Add to your patty melt and start grubbin.
  11. I also put sweet potatoes right on the coals also...makes an awesome side.

ground sirloin, choice, sweet onion, bread of choice
