Cherry Booze
- 1 pound bing (sweet) cherries big
- 1 pound sugar
- 1 x vodka 1 fifth gin vodka or brandy (at least 90 proof) (vodka preferable)
- Wash and stem cherries gently so as not to bruise them; dry on towel.
- Place cherries in 2qt jar and pour sugar over them.
- DO NOT STIR OR SHAKE!
- Pour liquor over cherries and sugar, cover w/lid.
- DO NOT STIR!
- Let stand undisturbed for 3 months.
- Strain into (2) 1qt bottles.
- Fruit will have dissolved and both color and flavor the liquid.
- NOTE: If using plums, red meated make nicer color and sweeter.
