Pears with Nut Stuffing
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1/3 cup water
- 1 tbsp. lemon juice
- 4 pears, halved
- 1/3 cup finely chopped nuts
- 2 tbsp. sugar
- 1 tbsp. brandy
- 1 tbsp. sour cream
- 1/4 tsp. vanilla
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 tbsp. sugar
- Preheat oven to 325F.
- Mix 1/3 cup sugar, the water and lemon juice in ungreased square pan, until sugar dissolves.
- Arranges pears in pan, turning to coat with sugar mixture.
- Cover and bake in oven until pears are almost tender when pierced with fork, about 25 minutes.
- Please 1 pear half cut side up in each of 8 serving dishes.
- Mix nuts, 2 tbsp.
- sugar, the brandy, 1 tbsp.
- sour cream and the vanilla; fill centers of pear halves with nut mixture.
- Mix sour cream and 1 tbsp.
- sugar.
- Top each pear half and dollop of sour cream mixture.
