Corn Pasta Bolognese
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1 clove garlic, crushed
- 2 rashers bacon, chopped
- 500g lean beef mince Safeway 1 lb For $5.99 thru 02/09
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup salsa
- 1/3 cup port
- 60g field mushrooms, chopped
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 packet Country Harvest Corn pasta (Gluten, Wheat, Egg free)
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1/3 cup KRAFT* Grated Parmesan Cheese
- Heat oil in a pan, saute the onion, garlic and bacon for 3-5 minutes.
- Add minced beef, cook over medium heat, until well browned.
- Stir in the water, salsa, port, mushrooms, tomato paste and basil.
- Stir until well combined and simmer gently for 12-15 minutes or until cooked.
- Place water, and pinch of salt into a saucepan, bring to the boil.
- Place pasta into the saucepan and cook until al dente.
- Drain the pasta, top with sauce and cheese.
- Serve.
