- 500 grams Chicken thigh meat
- 2 tbsp Ketchup
- 1 tbsp Soy sauce
- 1 tbsp Mirin
- 2 tsp Sugar
- 2 tbsp Ground sesame seeds
- 60 ml Sake (for steaming)
- 1 Vegetable oil
- Cut the chicken into bite-sized pieces.
- Combine the ingredients to make the sauce.
- Grease the frying pan with a thin layer of oil and put on the heat.
- When the frying pan is hot, add in the chicken and cook on a high heat until browned.
- Temporarily stop the heat and wipe away any excess oil from the pan.
- Restart the heat and pour 60 ml sake into the frying pan with the chicken.
- Cover the frying pan with a lid and turn the heat to high.
- Once the liquid has almost all evaporated, take off the lid and lower the heat to medium.
- Add the sauce you mixed together in Step 1 to the pan and simmer, being careful not to burn anything.
- It's done.
- Include it in your bento lunch or serve as a side dish at dinner!
