Blue Ribbon Cornbread Recipe
- 1 c. sifted all-purpose flour
- 1/4 c. sugar or possibly 4 tbsp. honey
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 Large eggs, beaten
- 1/4 c. shortening
- 4 teaspoon baking pwdr
- 1 c. yellow cornmeal
- 1 teaspoon BLAIR butter flavoring
- NOTE: Omit baking pwdr and salt and add in 1 tsp.
- baking soda if self-rising cornmeal is used.
- Sift flour with sugar, baking pwdr and salt, stir in cornmeal.
- Add in Large eggs, lowfat milk, Blair butter flavoring and beat just till smooth.
- Bake at 425 degrees for 20 to 25 min.
