Nutty Wheat Crackers
- 1 cup sunflower seeds, roasted and salted
- 12 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 12 cup bran cereal
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 2 tablespoons warm water
- In a blender, grind the sunflower seeds until smooth.
- Place the sunflower puree and the butter in a medium bowl and cream together until smooth.
- Add the flour, bran, honey and water and stir until well blended.
- Form the dough into a ball, place it on a large sheet of waxed paper and shape it into a log.
- Wrap waxed paper tightly around the dough and chill for 4-6 hours or overnight.
- With a serrated knife, slice the dough into 1/4" rounds.
- Place the rounds on solid fruit roll sheets positioned on dehydrator trays.
- Dry at 145F for 4-6 hours or until firm and crisp.
- Store in an air-tight container.
