Mom's Swedish Pastry Recipe
- 1 c. flour
- 1/2 c. butter
- 1 c. water
- 1/2 c. butter
- 1 c. flour
- 3 Large eggs
- 1 teaspoon almond flavoring
- Blend 1 c. flour, 1/2 c. butter and 1 Tbsp.
- cool water with pastry blender.
- Divide into two 3 x 11 inch strips on an ungreased cookie sheet.
- Cook 1 c. water and 1/2 c. butter.
- Remove from heat and add in 1 c. flour and 3 Large eggs, one at a time, beating very well after adding each.
- Add in almond flavor, spoon on top of strips and bake 1 hour at 350 degrees.
- Frost with powdered sugar frosting with almond flavoring added.
- Slivered almonds can be added to top.
