Dried Cherry Mini Loaves

  1. Heat oven to 350F.
  2. Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and cloves in bowl; set aside.
  3. Combine sugar, 3/4 cup butter, brown sugar, honey and vanilla in another bowl.
  4. Beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often, until creamy.
  5. Add eggs, one at a time, beating will after each addition.
  6. Beat at low speed, gradually adding flour mixture alternately with buttermilk and scraping bowl often, until well mixed.
  7. Stir in almonds and cherries.
  8. Spoon batter evenly into five well-greased (5 1/2x3-inch) mini loaf pans.
  9. Bake 30-40 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
  10. Cool 10 minutes; remove from pans.
  11. Cool completely.
  12. Beat 1 cup butter in bowl at medium speed until creamy.
  13. Add preserves, powdered sugar and almond extract; beat at low speed until well mixed.
  14. Serve with cooled bread.
