Macaroon Kiss Cookies
- 1/3 c. soft butter
- 3 oz. soft cream cheese
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 1 egg yolk
- 2 tsp. almond extract
- 2 tsp. orange juice
- 1 1/4 c. flour
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 5 c. flaked coconut
- 8 oz. Hershey's Kisses (dark chocolate is best)
- Beat butter, cream cheese and sugar in large bowl until well blended.
- Add egg yolk, almond extract and orange juice; beat well.
- Stir together flour, baking powder and salt.
- Gradually add flour mixture to butter mixture.
- Stir in 3 c. coconut.
- Cover and refrigerate 1 hour or until firm enough to handle.
- Shape dough into balls; roll in coconut and place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes.
- Remove from oven and immediately press Hershey Kiss on top of each cookie.
- Makes about 4 dozen cookies.
