Maple Walnut Granola
- 5 cups quick-cooking oats
- 1 cup shredded coconut
- 1 cup walnuts
- 1 cup wheat germ
- 34 cup oat bran
- 12 cup flax seed meal
- 13 cup dark brown sugar
- 1 cup skim milk powder
- 12 cup vegetable oil
- 12 cup maple syrup
- 12 cup light syrup
- 1 teaspoon maple flavoring
- Preheat oven to 250 degrees.
- Chop walnuts.
- Combine all dry ingredients in a large bowl with wooden spoon.
- Add oil, syrup and maple flavoring.
- Mix together thoroughly using the back of a spoon.
- Distribute the mixture evenly onto 3 cookie sheets.
- Place in the oven and bake or 45-60 minutes stirring every 15 minutes.
- I often stir mine only once so I get big chunks in my granola.
- Once you take the granola out of the oven, cool completely before eating or storing in an airtight container.
