James Beard's Persimmon Bread
- 3 1/2 cups flour, all-purpose
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon mace ground
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 cup butter melted
- 4 large eggs lightly beaten
- 23 cup cognac
- 2 cups walnuts chopped
- 2 cups raisins, seedless
- Combine ingredients into bread machine and press "Start".
