Holiday Chocolate Chippers Recipe
- 1 1/2 c. all purpose flour
- 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 c. packed brown sugar
- 1/2 c. butter, softened
- 3 tbsp. sugar
- 1 lg. egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
- 1 c. semi sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 c. coarsely minced maraschino cherries, well liquid removed
- 1/2 c. slivered almonds
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
- Lightly grease baking sheets; set aside.
- In a small bowl, stir flour, baking soda, and salt; set aside.
- In a large mixer bowl at medium speed beat brown sugar, butter, and sugar till creamy.
- Beat in egg, vanilla and almond extract.
- At low speed, gradually beat in flour mix till well blended.
- Stir in chips, cherries and almonds.
- Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls about 2 inches apart on baking sheet.
- Bake for 10 to 12 min (for chewy cookies, use the shorter baking time) or possibly till lightly browned.
- Cold cookies on wire racks.
- Store in airtight containers in a cold place.
- Makes about 4 dozen.
