Frozen Chocolate Bombe

  1. Line 3-qt.
  2. freezerproof bowl with plastic wrap; set aside.
  3. Chop half the chocolate.
  4. Add to ice cream, nuts and apricots in separate bowl; mix well.
  5. Spoon into lined bowl; press firmly into bowl.
  6. Smooth top; cover with foil.
  7. Freeze overnight.
  8. Place wire rack over rimmed baking sheet.
  9. Remove foil from ice cream; invert onto rack.
  10. Remove bowl and plastic wrap.
  11. Melt remaining chocolate as directed on package; pour over ice cream.
  12. Spread to evenly cover ice cream.
  13. Transfer to freezerproof serving plate; freeze 30 min.
  14. or until chocolate is firm.
  15. Sprinkle with powdered sugar just before serving.
