Cheese Casserole
- 1 loaf white bread (Arnold)
- 1 lb. sharp Cheddar, grated
- 3 c. milk
- 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 3 Tbsp. minced onion
- 4 eggs
- 1 tsp. dry mustard
- salt and pepper
- Cut bread slices into 4 squares.
- Fit 1/3 of bread tightly in bottom of greased 2-quart casserole.
- Sprinkle with salt and pepper, 1/3 of onion and 1/3 of cheese.
- Press down, repeat instructions twice.
- Beat eggs, add mustard, Worcestershire sauce and milk.
- Mix well.
- Pour over casserole contents, cover and chill overnight.
- Remove from refrigerator 2 hours before serving and drizzle with melted butter.
- One hour before serving, bake in a preheated 325u0b0 oven for 40 to 50 minutes or until firm in center.
- (If you double this recipe, use only 5 cups milk.) Serves 8.
