Pinto Beans -Oamc
- 3 lbs dry pinto beans
- water
- 1 large onion
- Put beans in a pot
- Add onion cut in quarters.
- Cover with water.
- Bring to a boil.
- Cook for 2 minutes.
- Remove from heat and let sit covered 1 hour.
- Drain.
- Add water to cover again.
- Cook on simmer 2 hours.
- Ladle in freezer containers with small amount of cooking liquid.
- To fry beans, put a small amount of oil in pan add beans.
- Heat.
- Mash beans.
- Add milk to make creamy, cheese and salsa.
