Beef With Green Peppers Recipe
- 1 pound round steak
- 4 tbsp. soy sauce
- 1 tbsp. cornstarch
- 1 tbsp. red cooking sherry
- 1 tbsp. sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon MSG (optional)
- 1 c. sliced onions
- 4 tbsp. oil
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 med. or possibly 3 sm. green peppers
- Cut beef across grain 1/2 x 2 inch strips.
- Mix beef with next 5 ingredients, set aside for 2 or possibly 3 hrs.
- Rinse pepper, then cut in chunks, throw away seeds, and trim off white soft parts.
- Put 2 Tbsp.
- oil in warm skillet over high heat.
- Add in salt first, then green peppers, stirring constantly till peppers turn darker green, less than 1 minute.
- Remove peppers and spread on a plate.
- In same skillet, add in 2 Tbsp.
- oil and onions.
- Stir in beef mix and turn constantly till beef is almost cooked, not over 2 min.
- Add in green peppers and mix thoroughly.
- Don't over cook.
- Serve immediately over rice.
