Whole Wheat Oat Scones
- 23 cup vegetable oil
- 13 cup milk, skim
- 1 each eggs
- 1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
- 1 1/4 cups oats, quick cooking
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon butter buds
- 1/2 cup raisins, seedless or currants
- At end-of-year holiday time I substitute the mixed candied fruits 3.
- For a maple flavor, substitute REAL maple syrup for the milk, 4.
- Chop 1/2 cup walnuts and add to either the original or the whole.
