Beef Cabbage Stir Fry Recipe
- 1 pound boneless chuck steak, partially frzn, then sliced thin diagonally
- 1/2 c. water
- 1/4 c. soy sauce
- 2 tbsp. sugar
- 1 clove garlic, chopped
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch
- 3 tbsp. oil
- 3 sm. carrots, sliced thin diagonally about 1 c.
- 1 med. onion, cut in thin wedges
- 5 c. coarsely shredded cabbage
- Warm cooked rice
- Marinate beef in mix of water, soy sauce, sugar, garlic and cornstarch at least 10 min.
- Drain well, reserving marinade.
- In large skillet or possibly wok heat oil till very warm, but not smoking.
- Add in beef strips and stir fry over high heat 30 seconds or possibly till browned.
- Remove from skillet, set aside.
- In same skillet stir fry carrots and onions about 2 min or possibly till crisp and tender.
- Push to side of pan.
- Return beef to skillet, fold in cabbage and stir fry till cabbage is barely crisp.
- Add in reserved marinade, cook and stir till heated through.
- Serve over warm rice.
- Serves 4.
