Italian Sausage and Rice
- 3 cups Minute Rice (approximately 6 Servings), Prepared As Directed
- 2 pounds Italian Sausage
- 2 cans (14.5 Oz. Can) Crushed Tomatoes
- 3 cups Water
- 2 whole Green Peppers Diced
- 1 whole Onion, Diced
- 1 jar (about 12 Oz.) Banana Peppers, Drained
- 1 jar (about 10 To 12 Oz.) Jalapeno Pepper Rings, Drained (optional)
- 1- 1/2 teaspoon Salt
- 1 teaspoon Crushed Red Pepper
- 1 Tablespoon Italian Seasoning
- In a large skillet, cook the Italian sausage.
- Drain and put in your crock pot.
- Using the same skillet, cook the green peppers, onion, banana peppers, and jalapeno peppers over medium heat for about 5 minutes, stiring often.
- Place the vegetables in the cock pot with the meat.
- Prepare your Minute Rice as directed and place in the crock pot.
- Add the salt, red pepper, and Italian seasoning to the cock pot and stir together.
- Last, add both cans of tomatoes (not drained) and 3 cups of water.
- Leave on the low setting for 2 hours.
- Dont forget to serve with your favorite choice of bread!
- Note: you can leave the crock pot on the warm setting for a whole work day if needed.
