Family Favorite Won Ton Soup

  1. Combine all the filling ingredients in a bowl, mixing well.
  2. Lay one won ton wrapper in front of you.
  3. Cover remaining wrappers with damp towel to keep them from drying out.
  4. Moisten all edges of the wrapper with water.
  5. Place heaping teaspoon of filling in the center.
  6. Fold wrapper in half lengthwise, making sure the ends meet.
  7. Press down firmly on ends to seal.
  8. Use thumbs to push down on the edges of the filling to center it.
  9. Keep thumbs in place, fold over the won ton wrapper one more time.
  10. Push the corners up and hold in place between your thumb and index finger.
  11. Wet the corners with your fingers.
  12. Bring the 2 ends together so they overlap.
  13. Press to seal.
  14. The finished product should look like a nurses cap.
  15. Repeat until all won tons are filled.
  16. Bring chicken stock to a boil and add wontons, cooking 5-8 minutes until they rise to the top and the filling is cooked through.
  17. Add green onion and sesame oil just before serving.
