Broiled Portabella Mushrooms
- 2 tablespoons dry white wine
- 1 tablespoon light olive oil
- 1 1/2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
- Pinch of salt
- 4 large portabella caps
- Oregano for sprinkling, optional
- Preheat broiler (unless using a toaster oven).
- Combine the wine, oil, vinegar, and salt in a small mixing bowl and stir together.
- Wipe the mushrooms clean and arrange, smooth side up, on a small foil-lined baking sheet.
- Brush them with the marinade.
- Broil in the oven or a toaster oven for 4 to 5 minutes, then turn and broil until the mushrooms are touched by charred spots, 4 to 5 minutes.
- Remove from the broiler, sprinkle with oregano if desired, and serve.
