Western Baked Beans Recipe
- 8 strips bacon
- 4 lg. onions, sliced
- 1 c. brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon dry mustard
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic pwdr
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 c. cider vinegar
- 2 (15 ounce.) cans dry lima beans, liquid removed
- 1 (1 lb.) can green lima beans liquid removed
- 1 (1 lb.) can dark red kidney beans, liquid removed
- 1 (1 pound 11 ounce.) jar New England-style baked beans
- Fry bacon in skillet till crisp.
- Drain on paper towels and crumble.
- Set aside.
- Place onions in large skillet and add in sugar, mustard, garlic pwdr, salt and vinegar.
- Cover and cook 20 min.
- Add in onion mix and bacon to the beans.
- Pour into 3 qt casserole.
- Cover.
- Bake in 350 degree oven.
- Uncover.
- Bake 30 min more.
- Makes 12 servings.
- NOTE: Pork & Beans can substitute for New England style beans.
