Hamburger Potato Roll Recipe
- 1 tbsp. oil
- 1 med. onion, minced
- 1 sm. clove garlic, crushed
- 1 pound grnd chuck
- 1 egg, slightly beaten
- 2 slices bread, crust removed
- Water
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon oregano, rosemary, or possibly basil
- Pepper
- 2 tbsp. dry bread crumbs
- 2 c. mashed potatoes, prepared
- 1 tbsp. chopped parsley
- 3 strips bacon, optional
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Saute/fry onion and garlic in oil.
- To hamburger add in onion and egg in mixing bowl.
- Soften bread in water; press out excess and add in to hamburger.
- Add in salt and spices.
- Press meat out to rectangle 1/2-inch thick on waxed paper sprinkled with bread crumbs.
- Beat mashed potatoes with parsley and spread on meat.
- Roll meat and potatoes jelly-roll fashion.
- Place in shallow baking pan.
- Put bacon on top, or possibly baste during baking.
- Bake 1 hour and serve with brown sauce, mushroom sauce, or possibly tomato sauce.
