Crock Pot Cabbage Rolls
- 12 large cabbage leaves
- 1 lb lean ground beef (or use ground turkey or lamb)
- 2 garlic cloves, chopped
- 12 medium onion, finely chopped
- 12 cup cooked rice (or use uncooked rice)
- 1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
- 34 cup water
- 12 teaspoon salt
- 14 teaspoon pepper
- 14 teaspoon thyme leaves
- Wash cabbage leaves.
- Boil 4 cups water.
- Turn off heat.
- Soak leaves in water for 5 minutes.
- Remove, drain and cool.
- Cook ground beef with chopped garlic and onions until browned and then mix with cooked rice, salt, pepper and thyme.
- Place 2 tablespoons meat mixture on each leaf and roll firmly.
- Stack in a crockpot or slow cooker.
- Combine tomato paste and water and pour over stuffed cabbage rolls.
- Cover and cook on low setting for 8 - 10 hours.
