Mini Jibarito Burgers with Fried Plantains

  1. Combine lettuce, onions and cilantro.
  2. Refrigerate until ready to use.
  3. Meanwhile, mix steak sauce and barbecue sauce in medium bowl, then mix seasonings in separate bowl.
  4. For each serving: Deep fry 6 plantain slices in 350 degrees F oil 1 min.
  5. ; remove from oil.
  6. Flatten each slice to 2-inch round.
  7. Return to oil; fry 2 min.
  8. or just until plantains are caramelized; drain.
  9. Season with salt; cover to keep warm.
  10. Rub about 1/2 tsp.
  11. seasoning mixture evenly onto both sides of each of 3 beef patties; cook on medium-high heat 5 min.
  12. on each side or to medium (160 degrees F) or desired doneness.
  13. Cover each of 3 fried plantain slices with 1 Tbsp.
  14. lettuce mixture, about 1/4 tsp.
  15. hot sauce, 1 burger, 1 tomato slice and about 1 tsp.
  16. steak sauce mixture.
  17. Cover with remaining fried plantain slices.
