Caramel Apple Cake Recipe
- 1 1/2 c. Bisquick original baking mix
- 2/3 c. Granulated sugar
- 1/2 c. Lowfat milk
- 2 med Cooking apples, peeled and sliced (about 2 c.)
- 1 Tbsp. Lemon juice
- 3/4 c. Packed brown sugar
- 1/3 tsp Grnd cinnamon
- 1 c. Boiling water Sweetened whipped cream or possibly ice cream, if you like
- HEAT oven to 350 degrees.
- Mix baking mix and granulated sugar in medium bowl.
- Beat in lowfat milk till smooth.
- Pour into ungreased square pan, 9x9x2 inches.
- ARRANGE apples on batter; sprinkle with lemon juice.
- Mix brown sugar and cinnamon; sprinkle over apples.
- Pour boiling water over apples.
- BAKE 50 to 60 min or possibly till toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
- Serve hot with whipped cream.
- 6 servings.
- Caramel-Pear Cake: Substitute 2 c. sliced peeled pears for the apples.
