Caramel Apple Cake

  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Mix first 4 ingredients until blended.
  3. Beat butter in large bowl with mixer until creamy.
  4. Gradually add sugar, beating until light and fluffy.
  5. Add cream cheese and vanilla; beat until blended.
  6. Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating well after each addition.
  7. Gradually beat in flour mixture.
  8. Stir in apples.
  9. Pour into greased and floured 12-cup fluted tube pan or 10-inch tube pan.
  10. Bake 1 hour or until toothpick inserted near centre comes out clean.
  11. Cool cake in pan 10 min.
  12. ; loosen from sides of pan with knife.
  13. Invert cake onto wire rack; gently remove pan.
  14. Cool cake completely.
  15. Microwave caramels and cream in microwaveable bowl on HIGH 2 to 3 min.
  16. or until caramels are completely melted and sauce is well blended, stirring every 30 sec.
  17. Drizzle over cake.
