Sour Cream Almond Apple Pie

  1. Preheat oven to 400F.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, stir together the egg, sour cream, sugar, 2 tbsp of flour, almond extract and salt.
  3. Stir in chopped apple.
  4. Pour mixture into the unbaked pie crust.
  5. Cover edge of pie crust with foil.
  6. Bake for 25 minutes.
  7. Meanwhile, combine the 1/2 cup flour, almonds and brown sugar in a small mixing bowl.
  8. Cut in butter until crumbly.
  9. Remove foil from pie.
  10. Sprinkle brown sugar mixture over pie.
  11. Bake, uncovered, an additional 20 minutes or until top is golden brown.
  12. Cool on wire rack.
  13. Once cooled, refrigerate within 2 hours.
