Our Family Recipe for Hayashi Rice (Hashed Beef Stew with Rice)

  1. Combine the sauce ingredients and mix well.
  2. Heat a frying pan and stir-fry the onion until cooked.
  3. Add the meat, turn the heat to high, add the red wine and stir-fry quickly.
  4. Put the combined sauce ingredients from Step 1 into the pan.
  5. Simmer until the meat is cooked (about 5 minutes) and it's done.
