Prune Bread

  1. Soak prunes in cold water 2 hours; drain.
  2. Pit prunes; chop.
  3. Add boiling water; let stand 5 minutes.
  4. Sift to-gether flour, sugar, salt and soda.
  5. Add prune mixture.
  6. Beat egg and add.
  7. Add salad oil or melted crisco.
  8. Pour into greased loaf pan and bake in 325F (160C) oven 1 hour.
  9. Remove from pan and cool on rack.
