Dinner Pinwheels Recipe
- 2 tbsp. fat
- 1/2 c. chopped onion
- 1/3 c. lowfat milk
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 lbs. grnd beef
- 1/2 c. fine bread crumbs
- 1 recipe biscuit dough
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- Saute/fry onions in saucepan till limp and tender.
- Measure 2 Tbsp.
- and add in to meat with salt, pepper, bread crumbs and lowfat milk; mix thoroughly.
- Mix biscuit dough, adding remaining onions to flour with shortening.
- Roll dough into 12"x9" rectangle.
- Spread with hamburger mix and roll lengthwise as for jelly roll, wetting edge to seal.
- Cut 12 slices; place cut side up, on greased baking sheet.
- Bake in warm oven, 450 degrees, 20 min or possibly till done.
- Serve warm with green pea sauce.
- Make 2 c. white sauce, browning butter and adding 2 bouillon cubes.
- Add in 3/4 c. liquid removed cooked peas.
- Brown gravy or possibly cheese sauce is also good served in place of listed sauce.
