Sweet & Spicy Fried Chicken
- 2 Chicken thighs
- 1/4 head Shredded cabbage
- 1 tbsp Sake
- 1 Salt and pepper
- 2 tbsp each Katakuriko, cake flour
- 2 tbsp Gochujang
- 2 1/2 tbsp Sugar (dissolved in a small amount of hot water)
- 4 tbsp Soy sauce
- 1 White sesame seeds
- Cut the chicken into bite-sized pieces, and put into a plastic bag together with the sake, salt, and pepper.
- Let sit for 15 minutes.
- Make the sweet & sour sauce.
- Mix the ingredients together in a bowl (it's a syrupy sauce).
- Add the listed amounts of katakuriko and cake flour to a slightly large plastic bag and mix.
- Add the chicken from Step 1 to create a coating.
- Place the bag down while spreading it out to keep the chicken pieces from lying on top of one another (this is to keep it from sticking together).
- Fry the chicken in oil.
- Remove from the oil and drain on a paper towel.
- Place the hot chicken in the bowl with the sauce.
- Mix in a bottom-to-top motion to coat the chicken evenly with the sauce.
- Transfer to a serving plate with some vegetables on the side, top with white sesame seeds, and it's complete.
