Brownies
- 250 g unsalted butter
- 200 g dark chocolate
- 65 g plain flour
- 65 g cocoa powder
- 300 g golden caster sugar
- 12 teaspoon baking powder
- 3 large eggs
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 100 g milk chocolate chips
- Preheat oven to 180C, gas mark 4.
- Grease a large baking tin.
- Melt the chocolate in a heatproof bowl over a pan of simmering water.
- Sift the plain flour, a pinch of salt, cocoa and baking powder into a separate bowl.
- Beat the sugar and the eggs until pale and creamy.
- Slowly add the eggs and the yolk until smooth mixture.
- Gently fold the melted chocolate and the vanilla extract into the butter and sugar mixture, followed by dry ingredients and chocolate chips.
- Add to the tin and cook for 30 minutes.
- When finished, leave to chill for an hour.
