Savory Chicken Sunday Supper

  1. In a Dutch oven, heat oil over medium high.
  2. Add chicken and cook, turning, until golden on all sides, 8-10 minutes.
  3. Drain off any fat.
  4. Add onion, garlic, celery leaves, green pepper and carrots.
  5. Cook, stirring, until onion is soft, 2-3 minutes.
  6. Stir in potatoes, rice, broth, marjoram, salt and pepper.
  7. Heat to boiling, reduce heat to low and simmer, covered, until rice and potatoes are tender, 20-25 minutes.
  8. Stir in peas and let stand, covered, 5 minutes.
