Chicken Tostadas

  1. This recipe is really quick and easy to make.
  2. It is great to make as an appetizer or as a meal.
  3. Once the previously cooked chicken is shredded, add it into a large skillet over medium heat and add in the taco seasoning and water.
  4. Bring to a simmer as you mix to combine the chicken with the seasoning.
  5. Cover, remove from the heat and set it aside.
  6. Preheat your oven to 320 degrees F.
  7. In the meantime, heat your beans until warmed through.
  8. Have all of your ingredients ready.
  9. I like to prepare these family style, allowing everyone at the table to build their own tostada.
  10. Put the tostada shells onto a baking tray and heat in the oven for about 4-6 minutes.
  11. Once the tostadas are warmed through, remove them from the oven and place onto a serving dish.
  12. Add the chicken into a serving bowl.
  13. To serve, cover the tostada with a generous layer of refried beans.
  14. Doing so allows the rest of the ingredients to stick together, so the beans basically serve as your glue for this dish.
  15. Top with some chicken, then lettuce, tomato, onion, cilantro, cheese, avocado and chilies.
  16. Drizzle with the crema, hot sauce and a bit of lime juice.
  17. Pick up the tostada with both hands and bite on in.
  18. To me, this is a perfect bite.
  19. Its similar to what you might expect within a Mexican torta, however delivered on a crispy tostada shell.
  20. Lets just say these are not only easy to make, but they are super delicious and everyone at the table devoured them.
  21. Thats saying something.
  22. I hope you enjoy.
