Turkey Zucchini Burgers with Caramelized Onions, Apples and Brie
- 1 Tablespoon Olive Oil
- 1 whole Yellow Onion, Thinly Sliced
- 1 pound Ground Turkey
- 4 ounces, weight Zucchini, Shredded
- 1/4 teaspoons Garlic Powder
- 1/4 Tablespoons Onion Powder
- 18 teaspoons Salt
- 18 teaspoons Pepper
- 2 whole Granny Smith Apples, Cored And Cut Into Matchsticks
- 5 ounces, weight Brie Cheese, Rind Removed
- 1 Tablespoon Maple Syrup
- 5 whole Wheat Hamburger Buns
- Cooking Spray

- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the olive oil and onions and cook, stirring constantly, for about 5 minutes or until the onions begin to soften.

- Reduce the heat to medium and continue to cook for 10 minutes.
- 3.
- Heat a large skillet or grill to medium heat for cooking the burgers.
- 4.
- Prepare the burgers by mixing the turkey, shredded zucchini, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper in a large bowl.
- Form into 5 patties.

- Add the apples to the onion mixture and continue cooking for 10 additional minutes.
- 6.
- While the onions and apples continue cooking, spray the large skillet (or, if using a grill, spray the burgers) with a little cooking spray.
- Reduce the heat to medium-low and cook the burgers for about 5 minutes on each side, until no longer pink in the center, or a minimum temperature of 165 degrees F. 7.
- Turn off the heat for the burgers, top with the brie cheese and cover the skillet to allow cheese to melt.
- 8.
- Turn off the heat for the onion and apple mixture and stir in the maple syrup.
- 9.
- Assemble the burgers on the buns and serve.
