Bacon, Cheddar and Chive Scones

  1. Preheat oven to 425F.
  2. Mix flour and baking powder in large bowl.
  3. Cut in butter with pastry blender or 2 knives until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Add 2 of the eggs and the cream; beat with wire whisk until well blended.
  5. Add to flour mixture; stir just until moistened.
  6. Stir in cheese, bacon and chives.
  7. Shape into ball.
  8. Knead dough on lightly floured surface 10 times.
  9. Roll out to 12x6-inch rectangle.
  10. Cut into 8 (3-inch) squares; cut each square diagonally in half.
  11. Place on lightly greased baking sheet.
  12. Beat remaining egg and the water with wire whisk until well blended; brush over dough triangles.
  13. Bake 14 to 16 min.

  15. Serve warm.
